There are moments when life feels heavy — your thoughts race, your heart feels tired, and even prayer feels hard. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you are not weak and you are not alone. The Bible reminds us again and again that God meets us right in the middle of our stress, fear, and exhaustion.

Whether you’re overwhelmed by motherhood, work, finances, relationships, or simply the weight of life, these scriptures are meant to help you pause, breathe, and remember where your strength comes from.
Take your time reading each verse. Let God’s Word settle your heart.
1. Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
When everything feels like too much, Jesus doesn’t ask you to fix it first. He simply invites you to come. Rest isn’t something you earn — it’s something He gives.
Reflection: What burdens are you carrying today that you need to place at Jesus’ feet?
2. Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
God’s peace doesn’t depend on your circumstances changing. It comes when you choose to bring everything — even the messy thoughts — to Him in prayer.
Reflection: Have you been holding onto anxiety instead of handing it to God?
3. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”
Feeling overwhelmed often comes with feeling alone. This verse reminds us that God is present, strengthening us even when we feel weak.
Reflection: Where do you need to remember God is with you right now?
4. Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Stillness is difficult when your mind is racing, but sometimes peace comes when we stop striving and simply acknowledge who God is.
Reflection: What distractions can you step away from today to be still with God?
5. 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
God doesn’t minimize your worries — He invites them. Every concern matters to Him because you matter to Him.
Reflection: What anxiety do you need to intentionally release to God?
6. Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
“Be strong and courageous… For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Strength doesn’t mean you aren’t afraid. It means you move forward knowing God is beside you.
Reflection: What step of courage is God asking you to take?
7. Psalm 55:22 (NIV)
“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you.”
When you feel like you can’t keep going, God promises to sustain you — not just today, but every day.
Reflection: In what area do you need God’s sustaining strength?
8. John 14:27 (NIV)
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.”
The peace Jesus gives is different from the world’s peace. It remains even when circumstances are uncertain.
Reflection: Are you seeking peace from God or from temporary solutions?
9. Romans 8:28 (NIV)
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.”
Even when things don’t make sense, God is still working behind the scenes.
Reflection: How can you trust God with what you don’t understand yet?
10. Lamentations 3:22–23 (NIV)
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed… his mercies never fail. They are new every morning.”
No matter how overwhelming yesterday was, today comes with fresh mercy.
Reflection: How does knowing God’s mercy is new today change your perspective?
